Beyond 550 Years – an Interdisciplinary Symposium on Human History
This international, interdisciplinary symposium celebrates Uppsala University’s 550th anniversary. Studying human prehistory defies traditional disciplinary settings and demands close collaboration of experts from different fields. Understanding the human past requires integrating archaeological evidence, human evolution and history, ancient DNA, palaeoanthropology, environmental and climate science, linguistics, cultural anthropology, and input from other fields.
The symposium will highlight Uppsala University’s intellectual heritage, high-quality research, and continuing commitment to developing new perspectives on fundamental questions.
The intended audience is academics, scholars, interdisciplinary researchers and PhD students, but the event will be open to the general public. Participation upon registration.
