A new vacancy: an Associate Senior Lecturer in Comparative Indo-European Linguistics


The Department of Linguistics and Philology is looking for an associate senior lecturer in Comparative Indo-European Linguistics. Research in Comparative Indo-European Linguistics is currently conducted within the main subject area Linguistics in collaboration with the main subject area Indology. Linguistics is a main subject area that includes education at basic-, advanced- and postgraduate level. The subject participates in the Bachelor’s Programme in Languages, Speech and Language Pathology Programme, and the Master’s Programme in Languages. The subject’s current research areas include Historical Linguistics and Linguistic Diversity, Language Documentation and Typology, as well as Child Language Development and Second Language Learning. Indology is a main subject area that includes education at basic-, advanced- and postgraduate level. The subject’s current research areas include Indology, Hindi/Urdu and Comparative Indo-European Linguistics. Furthermore, the research area of Historical Linguistics collaborates with Archeology and Genetics in the interdisciplinary center of excellence Center for the Human Past (https://www.vr.se/swecris.html?project=2022-06620_VR). The Center for the Human Past links the three research areas of Archaeology, Genetics and Linguistics, all of which investigate different aspects of human development over the past 10,000 years.
