We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher in archaeology to contribute to the centers’ overarching goal of elucidating and understanding various aspects of human development over the past 10,000 years. The postdoctor will be employed by the Department for Archaeology and ancient history and associated with the Excellence Center for the Human Past.

Qualification requirements:
- PhD degree in archaeology or a foreign degree equivalent to a PhD degree in archaeology. The degree needs to be obtained by the time of the decision of employment. Those who have obtained a PhD degree three years prior to the application deadline are primarily considered for the employment.
- proven experience and ability to work with computer-based analytical methods and information in large databases containing complex aggregated data
- demonstrated independence and high research quality through research publications of high quality
- Excellent oral and written skills in English
- Being able to work independently as well as collaboratively with others
- Strong emphasis will be placed on personal qualities, therefore interviews as well as reference checks may be included in the selection process.
